The tips of all trekking poles have a slight taper. Insert the tip of your pole into one of the 9 holes. The gauge should go at least 1/2” past the carbide tips and stop somewhere in the middle of the taper.
The gauge should also be at least 1/2” from contacting the baskets.
This is a example of the correct fit for the #2 hole in the gauge.
The hole number you choose as a good fit with the gauge corresponds to the same StickPic model number you should order on- line.
If #1 , choose REI. If #2, choose LEKI. If #3 choose Black Diamond. If #4 choose REI. If #5, choose Black Diamond, If #7, choose Backpackinglight.
